Constitution

The Student Body Constitution

The Student Body Constitution describes general duties of each branch of the Student Government Association as well as procedure for how to update the Articles in the Constitution.

Statutes

Title I – The System of Statutes

Title I establishes the organizational standards for the rest of the Statutes.

Title II – Student Government Statutory Definitions and Parliamentary Authority

Title II is the glossary of terms specific to the Statutes which are used throughout each document.

Title III – The Legislative Branch

Title III describes the duties, powers, and organizational standards for SGA members within the Legislative Branch. This includes position descriptions and responsibilities for the Senate President/Speaker of the Senate, Pro Tempore, Committee Chairs, and other Senator positions.

Title IV – The Executive Branch

Title IV describes the duties, powers, and organizational standards for SGA members within the Executive Branch. This includes position descriptions and responsibilities for the Student Body President, Chief of Staff, Attorney General, Comptroller, and other Cabinet positions.

Title V- The Judicial Branch

Title V describes the duties, powers, and organizational standards for SGA members within the Judicial Branch. This includes position descriptions and responsibilities for the Chief Justice, Assistant Chief Justice, and other Associate Justice positions. This title also describes the eligibility for procedures and appointment of members to The Sports Club Council, Interfraternity Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council, Diversified Greek Council, and Panhellenic Council.

Title VI – The Election Statutes

Title VI defines the regulations and procedures for holding elections for both the Senate and the Presidential office of SGA.

Title VII – The Impeachment and Removal Statutes

Title VII discusses procedure for submitting impeachment requests, impeachment hearings, and the rights and responsibilities privileged to students on all sides of the impeachment process.

Title VIII – The Finance Code

Title VIII bridges a connection between the Activity and Service Fee Office, which officially oversees the disbursement of the Activity and Service Fee budget, and the Senate through the Conference Registration and Travel Committee, the Financial Allocations for Organizations Committee, and the Operations Review and Sanctions Committee. Title VIII also establishes finite limitations for the spending in each committee.

Title IX – The Enforcement and Accountability Statutes

Title IX describes the procedure for filing censures, which any student has the power and privilege to submit, and issues of non-compliance, which are restricted to several internal offices, directed toward members within SGA who are in violation of any standards mentioned in other Statutes or of other UCF ethical and behavioral standards.

Title X – Installation and Eligibility Requirements

Title X lists the specific requirements which students must meet to begin or maintain involvement in SGA.

Title XI – Code of Ethics

Title XI describes the official interpretation of ethical behavior and professional procedure within the offices and actions of SGA.

Title XII – Student Government in The Sunshine Act

Title XII explains the state-required standards for transparency when conducting official SGA business.

Title XIII – Student Government Association Agencies

Title XIII establishes the procedure for the Agency and Department Strategic Planning Board, the agencies involved, and the membership requirements.
